I was born and raised in Michigan. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and Magna Cum Laude with Bachelors degrees in English and French from the University of Texas at Arlington. I also received a Secondary Teaching Certification.
In 1995 I moved to Washington to attend law school at Seattle University School of Law, graduating in 1998 Cum Laude. During my years of law school, I fell in love with Washington and its amazing scenery, diversity and people. While going to school, I worked as a bankruptcy paralegal for an attorney in Fort Worth, TX, and then for a Seattle Chapter 7 Trustee. In November 1998, I began practicing law, primarily focusing on bankruptcy law. My experience working directly with clients as a paralegal and then with a Chapter 7 Trustee provides an invaluable added perspective of the bankruptcy process. Since 2008, I have been devoted to consumer bankruptcy cases, serving clients in the Lewis, Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor and Pierce Counties. Cases from these counties are all filed and heard at the US Bankruptcy Court in Tacoma, WA.
I am a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Further, I received Pro Bono Publico Service Commendations from the Washington State Bar Association in 2004 and 2006.
