Brooke Barney is a Wyoming native, born and raised in Lander, Wyoming. Brooke grew to love the Big Horn Mountains as a child during her time spent at her family’s ranch in Ranchester, Wyoming. Brooke received a dual B.A. Degree in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Wyoming in 2004 and graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2007. Brooke began her law practice in Sheridan, Wyoming as an Associate with Attorneys at Law of Wyoming, P.C. Brooke practiced with Attorneys at Law of Wyoming, P.C. until opening up her own law firm, Barney & Graham, LLC in 2012.
Through her general practice, Brooke has assisted clients in a variety of legal areas. Brooke primarily focuses her practice in representing clients with domestic relations issues including divorce, establishment of custody and visitation, child support, custody modifications, adoption, and guardianships. In addition, Brooke serves as a Guardian ad Litem and advocates for children’s best interests in juvenile actions. Brooke also provides legal services for clients seeking to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy relief. She was awarded the 2007 Medal of Excellence in Bankruptcy by the American Bankruptcy Institute. Brooke is licensed to practice in the State of Wyoming, the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming.
Brooke is a past President of the Sheridan County Bar Association, serves on the Board of Directors for the Sheridan Rotary Club, and is the Chairwoman of the Board for the Center for Dispute Solutions, Inc.
